Mincemeat Tarts recipe
Ingredients:
1 packet (9 oz) of mincemeat.
½ cup of orange juice.
¼ cup of lemon juice.
1 teaspoon of lemon peel, grated.
¼ cup of chopped nuts.
2 teaspoons of orange peel, grated.
1 tablespoon of sugar.
¼ cup of chopped maraschino cherries.
¼ cup of chopped nuts.
1 double-crust pastry shell.
Directions:
Break the mincemeat, add the orange and lemon juices, grated lemon peel and sugar.
Heat and stir until the lumps are broken; simmer for 1 minute.
Allow to cool and add the remaining ingredients.
Cut 3-inch rounds of plain pastry.
Top with 1 tablespoon of mincemeat.
Moisten edge of pastry, then top with another round.
Seal and bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 18 minutes.
